Noted as “excellent and game” by The New Yorker, Evan Johnson is an up-and-coming professional actor based in New York City working in film, television, and theater. He made his “strong Off-Broadway debut” (Backstage) in the world premiere of Thomas Bradshaw’s Burning at The New Group, directed by Scott Elliott. Evan graduated with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Acting from Marymount Manhattan College, and continues to build his resume with thoughtful work and challenging projects. He was most recently seen in the Off-Broadway production of Peter and the Starcatcher at New World Stages.
On stage, Evan has worked with directors including Roger Rees, Paul Lazar, and Scott Elliott and performed Off-Broadway with The New Group and at New World Stages. He recently created a devised ongoing performance piece with Chip Rodgers at Incubator Arts for their Short Form 2013 project.
On camera, Evan can be seen in the independent feature Wildlife, Datebook and Olkwood web series, and various student film projects for University of North Carolina School of the Arts, Hofstra University, and New York Film Academy.
